~Flowers are blooming, Birds are Chirping, Spring is Here!~

Hey everybody!!
Well Spring is here and it’s time to Springify our wardrobes!! To tell you the truth I don’t really change my wardrobe around that much season to season but I do like to buy some pieces if I really love the trend. I am going to discuss some spring 2011 trends we hijabis can work into our wardrobe!

First off wide leg pants and bell bottoms are back in!! This is good news for us hijabis because flared pants are way better and more modest then skinny jeans!!

Another trend is lace!! That’s’ easy for us to work into our wardrobe you can use lace headbands and lace hijabs. You can also take a lace dress like the ones below and pair it with a cardigan or long sleeved shirt underneath and pants. I especially love this trend and will be getting myself a lace dress very soon!

Tail hems are also in! This is when the back of a dress is longer in the back then the front. This can also be incorporated into our wardrobe! I tend to wear short dresses as tops over pants so just get yourself some dresses with tail hems to wear over pants and be hijab friendly!

Some trends that would be really easy to work into our wardrobes and you may already have are stripes, tassels, and maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are one trend we shouldn’t let go so all of you should rock your maxi dresses this spring!

One trend I haven’t figured out a way to make hijab friendly is the crop top. Whenever I go shopping I see crop tops in many colors and designs. I was thinking maybe you can wear a long sleeved long shirt underneath and the crop top on top but that wouldn’t be the most modest thing to do. Anybody have any ideas of how to make these hijab friendly? I don’t think it’s possible and we should just stay clear of them.

Thats it for today TTYL

~Vampires and French Fries~

Hey
I feel like being a Muslim in a "western" coutnry we have to deal with the issue of Halal and Haram all the time. I've been told so many times something or another is haram and we can't eat it and it's like my most favorite thing ever! For example Starburst I loved it I used to eat it all the time when I was younger it was so fruity and tasty then I found out its haram and havent eaten it since.

I was told today that McDonald's fries are haram because its fried in beef oil! Well when I went on the McD's website they said they fry it in vegeable oil but it does contain beef flavoring which the website says has wheat and milk derivatives. What does that mean? What is beef flavoring is it real beef or is it something else? IDK. So in conclusions I don't know if the fries are halal or haram but to be safe the only thing we can eat in McDs is the Fillet o'Fish.

Do any of you read the Vampire Academy books? I just read the last book in the series Last Sacrifice and i love that series! =] I liked that the author Ricehlle Mead actually used her imagination and made up her own species of Vampires. If any of you like vampire books I def recommend you guys go read this series. I was so sad it ended =[ (If any of you guys are interested I can start doing book reviews on books I read!)

~A Miracle of the Aytal Kursi~

Hey Everybody,
So yesterday I was at the Muslim Student Center at my school for Zuhr prayer and after I prayed I was just hanging out talking with the other sisters. This one sister told us this story that she said was true and she read about it in a newspaper. And the story really made me feel....idk how to say it but here's the story. I heard this from someone who said its true but Idk all the details.

This muslim girl came out of class really late and it was getting dark and she didn't want to be late so she decided to take this short cut through an alley. So she was walking and she saw this guy who kept eyeing her and she could tell he wanted to do something bad to her. The girl got scared and said the aytal kursi. The guy didn't do anything to her and she got home safely. At home she told her family what happened and then she saw in the newspaper a story about a girl who was raped in the same alley so her parents told her to call the police and report the guy she saw. The police told her the description she gave is just like the description the rape victim gave. A few days later the police asked her to come and identify the guy. The rape victim was there too and both identified the same guy. The police then asked the guy why'd you rape her and not her? The guy answered "Why would I rape her when she was walking with two big guys on both sides of her?"
This really made me appreciate and say the aytal Kursi more its a really great thing and its so wonderful how Allah works =]
Does anybody else have any interesting and awesome stories about the aytal kursi? Please share.
